The Prestige - "Man's reach exceeds his grasp" It's a lie. Man's grasp exceeds his nerve.

Yesterday, I spent about 130 minutes of my life watching a movie. I don't really know whether it would have been useful for my life in future, but I knew that it would be certainly entertaining. The built-up which I created for that movie made me watch that movie, within no time I got that movie. I have a close friend who writes reviews about books, so it made me think why I can't write reviews about movies!? And then, here I am writing a review for the movie which I saw yesterday, the prestige. Surely it not a layman's movie, as most of other Nolan's movies was. In fact, it would acquire one of the top three positions for 'see again to understand' type of movies, I saw!
It's a movie which deals with two magicians. The carelessness of one of them, accidently kills the others wife. And as they both are magicians, their bemire mind unravels to horrific magic tricks and it totally anguishes both of their life. Nolan uses science and magic tricks to great effect in defining the movie.
The first thing about the movie which attracted me the most was screenplay. It was stunningly awesome; the way the story unfolds as the time passes in the movie. Only Nolan could do works of such a stunning quality!
Next was performance of the caste. No prizes for writing about this. The people who acted are masters in their fields! Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman were awesome. They complement and contradict each other in the movie so efficiently! Though people might admire both of them, I would like to say Jackman steals the show a bit more than Bale. The difference he shows as a dummy is pure class. Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca hall, David Bowie has done their work perfectly fine. And honourable mention is Michael Caine. He was 73 when this movie released, period!
The third and a very important factor is the thought process of the writer. This is adaptation of the book called 'the prestige' written by Christopher Priest. I read in cyberspace that he spent lot of time researching about magic and Nicola Tesla. I would really give him hats off for his thought process!
One final thing which I'm not so convinced about is the last stunt which Jackman does. The stunt actually called 'the Transported Man', where one guy goes into one door and comes out of other (which is at some distance) within no time. Again, there are many arguments in cyberspace that Tesla actually found similar equipment, but it's hard to believe. As it is a movie, we can accept and enjoy it, but not in real life! I haven't understood any scientific explanation for that stunt, at least through the movie. The movie would have been faultless if any logical explanation was given for that stunt (which I think is not given or may be I didn't notice).
The prestige is actually a stunning magical movie, which would make some think after the movie is finished, for some, for next two days, and some one like me, it can even be two decades!
P.S. – The line in the title is a dialogue from the movie; I don't understand it, totally! If anybody understands it, please let me know!

My experience, your life! :)

I don’t know how many people read my last two blogs. But I got the complete review package from some, who I feel, are close to my heart! It was so blatant, that those two blogs are completely out of sorts and I’m happy about that. If it was not that bad, I might not have got a chance of correcting myself.
I was having some thought in my mind and I was trying to write that. But I understood from them that opening up of mind don’t help you in anyway. So I asked them “What shall I do then?” The reply was so prompt and it was “Open up your heart!” They also told me “Life is not about thinking and understanding; it is experiencing and being happy!” “Unless you open up your heart you will be doing the former not the later”
This made me think, “Why am I writing something which is making people think? Why can’t I write something which will make people admire me or be happy?” After prolonged thought process, I decided that I’m not going to write any boring, argumentative sci-fi stuff, instead I can write something…, I'm hearing a voice, sure it's not my inner voice, but it is one of the cutest voice ever!
"Senthil anna, Naan nee sonna madiri daily naane brush panren, naane kulikaren, naane dress pottukiren..., Nee eppo enaku video game vangitharuve?”
“Nee ithe madiri daily pannina naan unaku video game vangitharuven!”
“Daily na ethane naal, correct a sollu?”
“Ok, 10 days!”
“10 days vena! Romba kammi a iruku, Naan 30 days ippadi seiren, nee enaku 30 video games vangitha, naan one day ku onnu nu one month play pannuven!”

This was the conversation happened my cousin brother (who is 3 years old) and me when I was typing the first part of the blog. I found that people around us, things around us, and society around us and in short, our life offers us so many nice things to write! Why should I worry about the world least discovered part, the brain? Now this is my inner voice saying what to write!
By now you all might have found what I going to write! Hope you all enjoy my experience, my view of life and let me enjoy your happiness through it! "From now on, it's my experience and your life!"
P.S. For my satisfaction, let me say a thing which I wanted to say in my previous blogs. To me, heart is nothing but sub-conscious mind! I don't know why did I try to make a max out of this single sentence, possibly the best answer would be, I'm a typical South Indian!

Is Instinct really our heart?

I still stick to the point which I said in the former blog, i.e. the term we name heart, really doesn't exist in heart, But I never said it doesn't exist and let me make that very clear. Actually the term we name heart actually part of brain. As a bulid up ploy, I m here dealing with what heart not really is. Is instinct really our heart? I really feel it is not!
As I spoke about Instincts, let me explain what science tells about Instincts. Instincts are the inherent inclination of a living organism toward a particular behavior. When you touch a hot object, your hands tend to retract. To be fair, we don't need heart for doing it. As science says, you don't even need mind to retract your hands. So Instincts doesn't have any role to play with heart or vice versa. According to me Instincts are something genetic. Let us say a baby touches a hot object, it obviously retracts. It might not touch the object again, does it actually mean it won't touch any unknown heated body! Not at all. So the baby is learning that the body he/she touched is hot, so we should not touch it again. But who tells the baby we should not touch any hot objects, it will burn us!? It's where gene comes in!
As I spoke about Gene, let me explain what science tells about gene. Gene is unit of heredity of any living organism. It is the book where every initial thing about you has been written, and of course, it can be re-written, and it also has some blank pages where you can write some more of your interest. I shall deal more about gene and what it did, doing and will do for our human race in my future blogs.
Ciao for now!

Does 'HEART' really lie in HEART? :)

The terminology we call 'heart' doesn't physically exist in heart, it is part of brain. There was, has been and will be arguments about it. But I will try and address it as far as my limited 'book' knowledge and my thinking. As we all know, everything we think is thought in the brain. So, the 'mind' is just our everyday way of saying the 'brain'.
Whenever we are experiencing any feelings (say fear, love) our heart tends to beat fast as it is initiator of our carrying agent, blood. So we feel more in heart than any other part of the body, it doesn't mean that heart is origin of everything. So it is quite dumb to say heart is the starting point of thoughts, feeling or motivation. We have enough proof for it, thanks to no. of experiments conducted by humans on humans.
There are also many arguments that every cell in our body has a memory called cellular memory, they haven't been proved yet, and there exists no hint memory space in our cells, so we can brand those arguments hypothetical. So as far as the development of science today, it is fairly safe to say, brain is the starting point of feelings. I shall write more about the origin of feelings and mind in my later blogs.
